Welcome to the first Balance and Believe Academy News!
Summer is here, and it was a busy spring for the B&B team. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights:
Back in April, Jilli Newman from Madison Memorial won the Madison City Girls high school golf tournament, Alec Sosnowski from Middleton won the Edgewood Invitational, and Peter Webb won twice on the Midwest Golf Tour
Dain Johnson from Middleton won the Morgan Stanley Invitational
In May, Sydney Grimm committed to play college golf at UW Stout, and Alyssa Schmidt committed to Taylor University
Hunter Neumann won the Kids Fore Hope WPGA Junior Tour event, and B&B donated $5000 for mental health awareness
Peter Webb successfully qualified for US Open Sectional Qualifying
Silas Pickhardt tied for medalist at high school sectionals and went on to win a playoff. On the same day, Middleton and Madison Memorial qualified for the WIAA state tournament
Ethan Arndt won the Division 2 WIAA state tournament individually, and Madison Edgewood won the team event
Moving on to our Off the Fairway podcast. We have had three great guests so far. Barry Alvarez, Greg Gard, and Tony Granato stopped by to talk Wisconsin sports, golf, shared some stories, and much more. We have episodes with TJ Watt and Bo Ryan upcoming. With summer just beginning, it is not too late to seek out club fitting or some golf instruction. If you are thinking about doing a club fitting do not wait. The pandemic has caused some supply chain backups for golf companies. If you want new clubs for the end of summer or even for next season contact Blake Jens (blakejens@gmail.com) or Michael Higgins (mhigginsgolf@gmail.com) to schedule a fitting. You can also schedule with either of them on the website under the “Find and instructor” tab. In the same part of the website you can book lessons as well. Derek, Matt, Blake, and Michael are eager to help you improve your game!
